Respect members were out campaigning this weekend, highlighting the scandal of New Labour pouring billions into the pockets of bankers and arms manufacturers whilst basic public services are being underfunded and millions face a public sector wage freeze. This week the reality of underfunded maternity services has hit the headlines in the same week that New Labour have handed over £55 billion of public money to bankers in a desperate attempt to avoid nationalising the Northern Rock bank.
